Les Watrous : Founder & CEO
|
|
| |
Les provides the overall vision for Cert-A-Roof® and is the driving force behind all business development operations as Cert-A-Roof® grows into a recognized, trusted brand name nationwide. He is the chief “guardian of the brand” with a spectrum of responsibilities that includes the overall direction of the company and the development and management of the franchise operations. Les makes sure the company maintains its focus on core values and on its stated mission to provide a superior level of service and exceptional value in meeting the roofing needs and protection of homeowners and the real estate community.
In his twin roles as Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Les draws on his broad and varied experience as a business owner, visionary, author, entrepreneur and “hands on” general contractor. Les has over 30 years experience in all facets of the residential building industry, including extensive experience in construction management. His core expertise, and his “passion,” is providing a system in which other contractors can benefit. He is a leading expert in the roof certification business and developed the patents pending process for inspecting and certifying roofs. Early in his career, Mr. Watrous founded Waterhouse & Associates, a general contracting consumer advocate firm specializing in insurance claims by reconstructing homes damaged by "perils of nature." He quickly became a specialist and has since developed numerous copyrights and proprietary systems that advance the knowledge and techniques of roof certification and the repair process.
Les created “Cert-A- Roof®” based on his in-depth knowledge of all sides of the roofing repair business, including the insurance side. In tandem with Cert-A-Roof®, he developed “LeakFREE(R) roof certification,” a two year renewable service agreement that protects sellers, buyers and agents from any future roof related leaks.
Les is also the founder of TGWB Publishing and a former Educational Director providing 3-credit continuing education correspondence course for real estate agents in California entitled "Roof Certifications for Consumer Protection" as well as a 6-credit continuing education correspondence courses for insurance agents in California. He is author of "Top Dollar Property Claims," a business book designed to guide homeowners and contractors through the steps of obtaining a successful claims settlement. The book was recently selected as one of the "Top 10 Real Estate Books" by The Los Angeles Times.

Steve B. Miller : Web Master
|
|
| |
Steve is the person in charge of Information Technology for the Cert-A-Roof® network. It’s his job to set up, configure and maintain our operating systems and networks. It’s rare to find an individual adept at website and database application development who also has a clear understanding of the roofing business, but Steve excels at both. With 26 years in the roofing industry, he has a solid grasp on what is needed to perform the day to day tasks of roofing management and sales while his computer background and training make him uniquely qualified to manage our sophisticated database programming and computer network applications.
Steve began his roofing career at the age of 14, as an apprentice for a large company in Ohio, and has experience as an entrepreneur, business owner and independent consultant for the roofing industry.
Steve served in the military before moving to California to continue his career in roofing, quickly moving up to field superintendent. He excels at training sales people in the requirements for roof installations, teaching how to accurately measure a roof, what materials are needed for each type of roof installation and what is the best material type for the job.
His search for a suitable estimating program for his own company led to the development of what is now known as Estimator 2.0. Steve’s creative technical skills combined with his direct experience as a roofing professional make him an invaluable resource for our company.
