About Laguna Beach

Anyone wanting to live in a beautiful seaside location with a year-round mild climate should head to beautiful Laguna Beach. With its stunning coastline, historical village center, and artistic community, it really is a fantastic place to live. Although the local population only numbers around 23,000 people, the city is incredibly popular with the three million tourists that visit the area every year.

Laguna Beach Interesting Facts

Laguna Beach is a really old community, in fact it was founded as long ago as 1870 by farmers who planted fast-growing eucalyptus trees to stake their claim! The beautiful coast and mountain scenery led to the rise of an artists community that is still thriving today, with the resort’s highest point being 1,000 feet above sea level in the San Joaquin hills. Laguna Beach is also known for its surfing and mountain biking culture, with mountain biking legend Hans Rey living in the town. The MTV show Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County was set in the resort, following the lives of several high school leavers for three seasons.

Common Roof Type

There are many different roofing types used in Laguna Beach, which all require regular inspection to ensure that small problems such as leaks or tile slippage do not escalate into a major issue. Tile is among the most popular choice of roofing because it matches the Spanish style housing and architecture of the city. Although it is extremely durable, the roof needs to be inspected at a minimum of every 2 years because the tile can crack, break, or slip from its proper position. Other conditions that can affect your tile roof in Laguna Beach are the Santa Ana winds (high winds of 40 miles per hour), deteriorated felt from the sun’s strong rays if there is broken or cracked tile, debris in valleys and El Nino storms.
